We are delighted to share some exciting news! We are expanding what we offer here at LSAP by launching a brand new Tuesday evening music club for children and young people who attend the playground (these sessions will be slightly different from the open music sessions held during the weekly term time afterschool programme).

Here’s everything you need to know:
🎵 Dream Lab Tuesday
When?
Our launch session will take place on Tuesday 19 May, 5–7pm
Sessions will then run every Tuesday evening (5–7pm) during term time
During school holidays, we will run daytime Dream Lab sessions, as part of the holiday programme, these session will be led by a guest musician
How does it work?
Each session is limited to 15 young people, aged 10–16
To book a place, children/young people can sign up for 'Dream Lab Tuesday' on site, at the front desk every Wednesday from 6pm to Friday 6pm, the week before each session
On Friday evenings, a member of staff will contact parents to confirm places
A waiting list will be available if sessions fill up, if there are cancellations, a place will be offered to those at the top of the list
Missed sessions policy: if a child signs up and misses two sessions in a row, they will need to wait two weeks before signing up again
What to expect
Each session will be led by two musicians, including LSAP General Manager, Faith, plus a guest musician
A playworker will also be present throughout the session
We’ll welcome a variety of guest musicians, bringing different styles and influences. So far, this includes:
DJ Anjali
Jess Whelligan (cellist, fiddle player, guitarist, singer, and synth player)
The Dream Lab is all about creative play through music, open to all abilities, with no prior experience needed
We will explore improvisation, jamming, and collaboration, building confidence, creativity, and connection through music
We hope to host two optional performance events each year (summer and winter)
And of course… it’s completely free!
We can’t wait to hear the joyful sounds coming from the LSAP Dream Lab! 🎶
💛 And lastly...
Lollard Street Adventure Playground/The Kennington Association is a charity, and this means every bit of money we spend on our historic project is money we find and raise ourselves: we are not publicly funded. If you have the means, please do consider making a donation, so that we can keep our adventure playground alive for years to come, and keep bringing free play to children in North Lambeth! We are especially trying to raise money to purchase a washing machine!
Have a playful week!
