Lollard Street Adventure Playground
Lollard Street Adventure Playground provides an exciting play space for all children aged 6-16 years of age. We provide a variety of indoor and outdoor activities and spaces allowing children to initiate their own projects and play environments. There is no charge to use our adventure playground however we do ask every child and young person to fill out a membership form before attending. Once this is done you are free to turn up and play. Trained staff are on hand to ensure your safety and to enhance everyone’s play experience.

Our Play Space
A play space is any area that supports and enriches the potential for
children and young people’s self-directed play. Come and have a look at our play space!!
‘All children need a place to play. They need space, informality,
freedom to run around and make a noise, to express themselves, to experiment and investigate… In
surroundings which stimulate their imagination and challenge them to face and overcome risks, they
will be helped to build up their self-confidence and independence.’
Lady Allen of Hurtwood.

OUR TEAM
The play project is staffed by a team of playworkers who are trained to understand the complex nature of children’s play. Playworkers aim to create rich play environments which support children to extend their play experiences. Playwork is what adults do when they set up a place where children and young people can come to play. They provide opportunities which encourage children to be playful in lots of different ways. They know when and when not to join in.
