Playground reopens after positive Covid test

Lollard Street was forced to close on 16 October, for two weeks, after we received a report that one of our regular children had tested positive for Covid-19 and may have had close contact with some of our staff, who therefore needed to self-isolate.

The playground reopened on 29 October, with the half-term hours of 10 am – 5 pm and will revert to term-time opening hours of 3.30 – 7.00 pm, Wednesday-Friday, with effect from 4 November.

Although no further infections have been reported (suggesting that our Covid safety measures, until now, have been effective) the forced closure did give us an opportunity to review our policies and procedures for managing the risk of infection at the playground and to try and avoid future closures. These, and the clarified rules for children, are now available to read here, where a copy of the full revised risk assessment can also be downloaded.
