Senior Playworker for Lollard Street Adventure Playground
This is an exciting opportunity to manage the play project at Lollard Street Adventure Playground which was one of the first adventure playgrounds in England, built in 1946 on the site of a bombed out school. Starved of funding for decades, it had fallen into disrepair before being closed by Lambeth Council due to austerity cuts in 2012. The Kennington Association took over in 2013 and transformed this historic site, so that it is once again at the heart of our local community, bringing children and young people of diverse backgrounds and their families together
We need an enthusiastic and motivated senior playworker who will work with the team to ensure quality play opportunities are provided for a wide range of children and young people aged 6-16, with different interests and abilities. We are an inclusive project so the successful candidate must have experience of working with disabled children, young people and their families.
Suitable candidates will have a NVQ L3 in Playwork or equivalent qualification and will have experience of managing outdoor adventure play.
If you have boundless energy and are creative and believe in the benefits of play for all children and young people we would love to hear from you.
