For one week only all donations to Lollard Street Adventure Playground will be doubled!
Between midday on Tuesday 23 June and midday on Tuesday 30 June, Lollard Street Adventure Playground has been selected to take part in the Champions for Children campaign, run by The Big Give and The Childhood Trust.
Thanks to the generosity of some wonderful local donors, including Millars General Store, as well as The Childhood Trust, every pound donated until we reach our target of £2,500 will be doubled – meaning we can raise £5,000 to support free adventurous play in Kennington.
Most children will have had only limited opportunity to be outside and play during the lockdown, particularly with their friends. Yet play and fresh air is vital to children’s wellbeing. The playground is currently shut due to COVID-19 health restrictions, but we are monitoring the situation closely to see if and when it might be possible for us to reopen the playground this summer.
All the money raised in this Champions for Children campaign will be used to help staff the playground when we reopen, and for any extra costs involved in making sure the playground is safe, such as for cleaning materials and personal protective equipment. Our ethos is that children are the “experts” in play. Our staff provide the rich environment and freedom in which to play, and are on hand to provide support or intervention as required.
To support our Champions for Children fundraising campaign, please visit our page on The Big Give. And if you can, please spread the word and let your friends know you’ve supported us on social media!
Only donations made via The Big Give’s website between midday Tuesday 23rd June and midday Tuesday 30th June qualify for match funding. If you have any questions please get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org or find us on Twitter or Facebook.
A big thanks from all the team at Lollard Street Adventure Playground and the Kennington Association.
