Job Opportunities

Inclusion Co-Ordinator 2018 (Maternity Cover)

This is an exciting opportunity to manage the Inclusion Project at Lollard Street Adventure Playground which was one of the first adventure playgrounds in England, built in 1946 on the site of a bombed out school. Starved of funding for decades, it had fallen into disrepair before being closed by Lambeth Council due to austerity cuts in 2012.  The Kennington Association took over in 2013 and transformed this historic site, so that it is once again at the heart of our local community, bringing children and young people of diverse backgrounds and their families together

We need an enthusiastic and motivated Inclusion Co-Ordinator who can continue to develop a new model of an Inclusion Project that can run alongside and support the current play project. The Inclusion Project provides extra support to enable all disabled children and young people to access the play project. This role will involve managing a small team of inclusive playworkers to deliver after school and holiday play provision for the local community. This role will also involve developing the inclusive sports element of our project.

Suitable candidates will have a NVQ L3 in Playwork or equivalent qualification and will have experience of managing inclusive outdoor adventure play.

If you have boundless energy and are creative and believe in the benefits of play for all children and young people we would love to hear from you.

Terms and Conditions:

  • 15 hours/week, of three after school play sessions a week during term time (Wednesday-Friday)
  • 5 play sessions every week (Monday -Friday) during all school holidays. 7 hours a day
  • £17,000-£18,000 per annum depending on experience
  • Plus, 22 days holiday, sickness and absence procedure and training opportunities.
